Whether it's the display in a smartphone, the solar cell on the roof or the sensor in a car - behind all these technologies are materials that first have to be thoroughly tested. Until now, this has been a time-consuming process. Researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems IPMS in Dresden have now developed a measuring adapter that revolutionizes this work. It can contact and test up to eight material samples simultaneously. This saves time and money.
Faster to new electronics
The innovation from Saxony makes it possible to test and optimize materials more quickly. This significantly shortens the development time for new electronics. As a result, companies can bring their products to market faster. In addition, materials and manufacturing processes can be reproduced more reliably. This is particularly important for industry, which relies on consistent quality. The Dresden technology thus creates the basis for next-generation electronic applications.
