Erzgebirgsstadion in Aue receives name extension

FC Erzgebirge Aue has found an additional name for its Erzgebirge stadium and thus another source of income. The third-division soccer club's arena will now be called "Erzgebirgsstadion eins". The leading energy service provider in the region secured the rights.

The parties have agreed not to disclose the amount of the financial contribution. The venue of the regional league club Chemnitzer FC, "Stadion an der Gellertstraße", will also bear the addition "eins"

"Our FCE is the sporting number one in the Erzgebirge, so eins energie is an excellent fit for us as the market leader for electricity, heat and water. As a local club, it was important for us to keep the name Erzgebirgsstadion and at the same time find a strong partner for the naming rights, including an increase in revenue," said Aue President Roland Frötschner in a club statement.
