The Saxon state parliament plans to deal with numerous issues in its last session before the summer break on Friday (from 10.00 a.m.). At the request of the AfD, the repayment of coronavirus aid will be discussed. It was announced on Wednesday that Saxony will not be demanding the repayment of coronavirus economic aid for the time being. Specifically, this concerns the "Federal Emergency Aid Grant" program and the federal government's bridging aid.
BSW speaks out in favor of using the Nord Stream pipelines
The Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) wants to discuss energy prices in the current hour and is calling for preparations to be made for the reuse of the Nord Stream natural gas pipelines. Nord Stream 1 supplied Russian gas for more than ten years. Nord Stream 2 was completed but never put into operation. In September 2022, three of the four strings of the pipelines were damaged in an attack.
SPD addresses protection of political demonstrations
The SPD would like to talk about the protection of political demonstrations such as Christopher Street Day (CSD) during the current hour. The CSD has repeatedly been targeted by right-wing extremists in Saxony in the past.
Greens want to bring the start of the Tour de France 2030 to Saxony
In the questioning of the state government, Justice Minister Constanze Geiert (CDU) will then have to answer questions. This will be followed by a motion by the Greens, which is also supported by the CDU-SPD minority coalition. According to the motion, Saxony should apply to host the Tour de France cycling race in 2030. In a motion, the AfD calls for an overall concept in the fight against extremism. The BSW wants to extend the restrictions on amusement arcades to protect children.
