Natalija Bock is a new contact person for pupils, parents and teachers in the event of discrimination or bullying in Saxony's schools.

Saxony is getting a new commissioner against discrimination and bullying in schools: From November 1, 2025, Natalija Bock will take over the ombudsman's office at the Ministry of Culture.

In future, pupils, parents, teachers or school management will be able to turn to her in cases of discrimination or bullying. "I am convinced that a lot needs to be done to ensure that children feel good and can develop well in schools. I am in favor of a school where no one has to be afraid of being different," said Natalija Bock after a cabinet meeting in Dresden.

The native Ukrainian, who has lived in Saxony for 28 years, is no stranger to Dresden: Bock is a co-founder of the Ukrainian Coordination Center and the Ukrainian House Dresden. She is also chairwoman of the Integration and Foreigners' Advisory Council.

The ombudsman's office, which has existed in Saxony since 2022, was previously held by Patrick Schreiber. He has been President of the Saxon State Office for Schools and Education since March 2025. Bock was appointed as his successor in the cabinet, announced Culture Minister Conrad Clemens (CDU) after the cabinet meeting.

Since the ombudsman's office was founded, around 100 cases have been processed. According to Clemens, in future there will be an annual report on the complaints received.
