Playing and learning at the same time? The "More time for children" association makes it possible. Schools can now take part in the association's competition again.

Primary schools in Saxony can once again win free games and toys for their pupils in this year's "Spielen macht Schule" competition. Schools have until June 6 to submit a concept for a games room, as announced by the Ministry of Education. Parent and support associations can also submit an idea paper in consultation with teachers.

According to the ministry, the aim of the competition is to help children learn through play and make learning easier for them. According to information on the competition's website, important decision criteria are creative and innovative ideas that contribute to school development and can be implemented in your everyday school life.

According to the ministry, 297 schools from Saxony have already won educationally valuable games and toys over the past 15 years. Nationwide, pupils from a total of 3,415 elementary school have been delighted to date. The "More Time for Children" association launched the "Spielen macht Schule" initiative in 2007 together with the ZNL Transfer Center for Neuroscience and Learning.
