The police caught a 39-year-old driver in Chemnitz with drugs and alcohol, but without a driver's license. He tried to escape a check in a fully occupied car on Saturday night, according to the police. In doing so, he was driving in gross violation of traffic regulations and recklessly and endangered the health of his four passengers.
When the car was stopped, the 39-year-old tried to flee on foot. However, the officers were able to stop him. The preliminary alcohol test carried out afterwards revealed a blood alcohol level of 1.16 per mille, and further tests also revealed the presence of amphetamines, cannabis and cocaine. The man also did not have a driver's license and gave false personal details. Among other things, he is accused of illegal motor vehicle racing and endangering road traffic.
