After a day-long warning strike, local transport is back on track in several cities. According to the transport companies, buses and trains are running again in the early morning.

After the warning strike, local transport services in Saxony, Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt resumed on Tuesday. Leipzig's public transport company, for example, declared the strike over on its website early this morning. Dresden's public transport company (DVB), on the other hand, has removed the strike announcement from its website and, according to the connection information, streetcars and buses are running again.

Other transport companies such as those in Magdeburg, Chemnitz, Halle and Erfurt had already announced yesterday that buses and streetcars would be running again in the early morning between 2.30 am and 3.00 am.

Collective bargaining at municipal transport companies

The Verdi trade union had called for warning strikes at municipal transport companies throughout the day on Monday during the ongoing collective bargaining negotiations. Buses and streetcars were largely at a standstill in parts of the three federal states. Four cities in Saxony, three cities and regions in Saxony-Anhalt and eleven in Thuringia were affected.
