Tailcoats and evening dress are their official attire at concerts in the Semperoper and elsewhere. Once a year, the musicians of the Sächsische Staatskapelle can dress more casually.

In casual dress instead of tails: musicians from the Saxon State Orchestra will soon be playing in bars and trendy pubs in Dresden's Neustadt district again. According to the orchestra, a wide variety of chamber music programs will be served up free of charge in ten bars and cafés in the district on 17 June. Tango and more will be offered in the Wohnzimmer, for example, hits and polka in the Bottoms Up and folk music for "swaying in 11-eighths time" in the Groove Station.

The music will be played in three rounds from 7.30 pm, so that during the half-hour breaks between the individual sets there will be the opportunity to change venues and listen to as much "Kapelle" as possible in a different way. The "Ohne Frack auf Tour" program first appeared in 2016 and quickly gained a regular audience.
