Coach Thomas Stamm impresses in his first season. He gets Dresden promoted. The club management likes that. They want to keep him even longer.

Just over a week before the start of the season, second-division soccer club Dynamo Dresden has extended the contract with head coach Thomas Stamm. The 42-year-old took over at the Saxons last summer and led the sports club and his coaching team back into the Bundesliga 2 after three years in the 3rd division. The SG did not disclose the length of the new employment contract.

"I have made no secret of the fact that I feel very much at home at the club and in the city since I arrived here in Dresden," said Swiss-born Stamm. "We managed to master the tasks as a team together last season with a clear goal in mind. As a coaching team, we want to move forward with the team to take the club to the next level."

Stamm and his team did an outstanding job last season. "That's exactly the path we want to stand for at SGD. And we are convinced that Thomas is the ideal head coach for this path," said Thomas Brendel, Managing Director Sport at Dynamo.
