For the first time, Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe (LVB) has transported more than 170 million passengers. Last year, a passenger record was set for the second time in a row, according to the Leipzig-based group. In 2025, a total of 171.2 million people traveled on the buses and trains. This is another 2.6 percent more than in the record year 2024.
According to the information, this is due to the extension of the 10-minute interval, new bus and streetcar lines and successful sales and marketing activities relating to the Deutschland-Ticket. For example, 6,000 additional subscribers were gained in the previous year. With a total of 159,000 subscribers for the Deutschlandticket, the highest customer base since its introduction was registered.
