Energie Cottbus receives funding for stadium renovation

The LEAG Energie Stadium in Cottbus can be renovated with funding from the state of Brandenburg. This is the result of the budget resolutions of the Brandenburg state parliament, which has passed the 2025 and 2026 double budget with legally binding effect. The state of Brandenburg will provide FC Energie with a total of two times one million euros for the necessary short-term repairs to the property. Most recently, the city council in Cottbus had already approved a sum of EUR 500,000 for the renovation of the training ground in Parzellenstraße following a specially convened task force.

"We are very grateful that these things have now been made possible. We are well aware that this will not be enough in the medium and long term to keep our stadium fit for professional football in the long term," said Energie President Sebastian Lemke. He added that it was extremely important that the workshop process at the Lusatia economic region (WRL), with the commissioned concept study, be concretized independently of the current decision in order to be able to push ahead with the overall LEAG Energie Stadion project.
