Jochen Seitz led Lok Leipzig to two championship titles—and then stepped down. His successor is no stranger to soccer in eastern Germany.

Second-division soccer club Hertha BSC has won another preseason friendly in preparation for the new season. The Berliners defeated Regionalliga club 1. FC Lok Leipzig 3-1 (2-1). Sebastian Grønning (31'), Soufian Gouram (37'), and Marten Winkler (53') scored for Hertha. Ayodele Adetula (35') scored Leipzig’s equalizer. The match, played in front of 3,784 spectators, was Lok Leipzig’s first game under new coach Torsten Ziegner.

Hertha controlled the game for long stretches. The goals came late in the first half, but were well-deserved. Berlin had squandered several chances earlier. Leipzig’s equalizer was the hosts’ first real opportunity. In the second half, Hertha coach Stefan Leitl made a complete lineup change. In the closing minutes, Marton Dardai also returned to the field after a long injury layoff.
