The handballers of BSV Sachsen Zwickau hope to secure their place in the women's 1st Bundesliga again this year. "We want to work our way into the midfield," coach Norman Rentsch told the newspaper "Freie Presse" (Wednesday). Due to the slimming of the league in the coming season to twelve clubs, the team would have to improve for it, however, from last year's 13th place once again.
Despite some personnel changes and injury worries in the preparation, the club, which managed the promotion two years ago, feels well positioned, however. "It was about getting to know each other as quickly as possible and swear in the team," Rentsch said. On Saturday, he and his team will start the league against HSG Blomberg-Lippe (6 p.m./Sportdeutschland.tv). The first competitive match in the first round of the DHB Cup had lost the BSV last Saturday against promoted HSV Solingen-Gräfrath with 24:26.
