Numerous companies are once again organizing Christmas parties in restaurants with their employees this year, even though restaurateurs have to adapt to higher costs during the Christmas period.

Numerous companies are once again organizing Christmas parties in restaurants with their employees this year. Especially in the cities, companies are not holding back on bookings, as Axel Klein, Managing Director of the German Hotel and Restaurant Association (Dehoga) in Saxony, said.

However, according to Klein, restaurateurs have to adapt to higher costs during the Christmas period. Here and there, the Christmas goose at company parties may have to make way for duck, for example. In general, December is a high-turnover month for the catering industry. According to Klein, this is particularly important this year because the reduced VAT on food in restaurants expires in January.
