The RB Leipzig women's soccer team have announced the promising addition of Persis Oteng to their attacking ranks. The 20-year-old striker from Tottenham Hotspur U21 has signed a contract with Leipzig until June 30, 2028, the Bundesliga club announced. Born in Oberhausen, Oteng was the most prolific attacking force in London, where she moved at the age of eleven, scoring 26 goals this season.
A dream come true for Oteng
"In Persis Oteng, we have been able to recruit a highly talented and ambitious player for RB Leipzig and tie her to us for the long term. Persis impresses with her finishing qualities, her drive on goal and her pace," said Viola Odebrecht, Head of Women's and Girls' Football at RB. Oteng said: "This transfer is a dream come true for me."
The striker is the fifth new signing for the coming season after Maja Spilenberg (ETO FC Győr), Mirja Kropp (FSV Gütersloh), Rucy Grunenberg (RB Leipzig U20) and Annabel Schasching (SC Freiburg).
