New Twist in the Blümel Case
The dispute surrounding Thomas Blümel and his role at Dynamo Dresden remains unresolved for the time being. After the Honorary Council took action against the long-standing member of the supervisory board, the Dresden Regional Court has now issued a preliminary injunction.
The sports club has therefore suspended the Honorary Council’s decision for the time being. This means Blümel can continue to serve as a member of the supervisory board until the matter is finally resolved in court. His other club rights also remain in effect for now. These include, among other things, the right to vote and be elected, as well as the right to submit motions, make statements, and participate in general membership meetings.
The dispute originated from allegations against Blümel regarding his handling of internal club matters and his duties as a member of the supervisory board. Following its proceedings, the Honorary Council concluded that a breach of duty had occurred. Blümel himself had rejected the allegations.
It remains to be seen how the court will ultimately rule on the validity of the Honorary Council’s decision. Dynamo intends to provide information on further legal action after conducting a review.
