Spekon, a parachute specialist based in Seifhennersdorf (Görlitz district), is expanding its production facilities at a cost of approximately 8.3 million euros. “We hope this will enable us to continue playing an active role on the international stage and to serve as a role model for small and medium-sized businesses in Saxony,” explained Managing Director Serdar Kaya in a statement. The project is receiving 2.8 million euros in state funding. This will secure more than 40 jobs and two apprenticeships, as well as create one new job, according to the statement. The company specializes in parachute technology for military and civilian applications but also manufactures technical textiles for other sectors. According to the information provided, the products are exported to more than 30 countries. High growth potential is expected in the coming years, particularly for military parachutes, the statement said. Copyright 2026, dpa (www.dpa.de). All rights reserved
