Basketball cup winners Syntainics MBC have strengthened their squad with Ivorian international Bazoumana Koné. The 31-year-old and 1.93 meter tall German-Ivorian signed a one-year contract in Weißenfels, as the Wolves announced. Koné has experience from 131 games in the German league for Bremerhaven, Ludwigsburg, Gießen, Braunschweig and most recently Würzburg.
In 31 appearances for Würzburg last season, he averaged 3.8 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.8 assists in just under 13 minutes of action. He was in the starting lineup three times for the club from Lower Franconia, with whom he reached the playoff semifinals.
Wolves' Head Coach Marco Ramondino says of the fifth new signing after Collin Welp, Marcus Foster, RJ Gunn and Kresimir Nikic: "Like all our previous additions, Bazou is also a very versatile player. With his athleticism, he can defend in several positions. He also has an enormous wealth of experience. I'm convinced that Bazou can give us valuable impetus coming off the bench, just as he did recently in Würzburg."
