If you want to turn night into day, the Museum Night offers concerts, films and free public transport - and kids don't pay a penny!

Museums and galleries in Leipzig and Halle are opening their doors until midnight on Saturday evening. The 16th Museum Night this year has the motto "Night Shapes", both cities have announced. A total of 90 cultural institutions are taking part. Participatory activities, film screenings, concerts and performances are planned. The museum night starts at 18:00.

The museums opening their doors include established institutions such as the Grassi Museum in Leipzig and the Planetarium in Halle. The Kunsthalle der Sparkasse Leipzig will be opening its doors for the first time in six years, it is reported. At the DB Museum in Halle, the historic locomotive shed with historic vehicles and model railroads will open.

Admission is free for children and young people up to the age of 18. From 4 p.m. until 3 a.m. the following day, tickets are also valid for local public transport and commuter trains between the two cities.
