The Dresdner SC women's volleyball team will continue to rely on talent from its own squad in the future. As the German cup winners announced at a press conference, two talented players from the VC Olympia Dresden youth squad - outside attacker Teresa Ziegenbalg and middle blocker Mette Pfeffer - have signed their first professional contracts, each for three years.
Teresa Ziegenbalg already wore the DSC jersey last season as part of a double playing right and was promoted to the first division squad at the end of January 2025. "Even as a child, it was a dream for me to play for DSC. That's why it's now an honor for me to sign my first contract with my home club," explained the 18-year-old.
Mette Pfeffer has come through all the youth teams at the Dresden base since 2017 and was also in the first-team squad several times last season. "It was a very easy decision for me to sign the contract, as I already felt very comfortable in the entire DSC environment last season. Now I'm looking forward to my first professional season and I'm already excited to take part in the Champions League for the first time," said the 19-year-old.
