Many women and men in Saxony feel stressed even after work. In a Forsa study commissioned by Techniker Krankenkasse (TK), more than a third of respondents stated that they are unable to switch off properly in the evenings or at weekends. Around a quarter (24 percent) are unable to do so even on vacation.
Rest is not a minor matter
"Rest is not a minor matter, but a prerequisite for staying healthy and productive in the long term," explained Alexander Krauß, head of the TK regional office in Saxony. "The days between Christmas and New Year in particular offer a good opportunity to consciously take a break from everyday working life - for example by putting your work phone aside, socializing or getting some exercise in the fresh air."
Almost half of employees feel worn out
According to the study, almost half of respondents from Saxony (48%) feel worn out and exhausted by work. Thirty-two percent said that family and friends were neglected due to work commitments. "Stress shows us that something is out of balance. The holidays are a good time to calm down, spend time with family and friends and recharge your batteries," said the head of TK in Saxony.
Programs and apps to reduce stress
TK says it helps its policyholders to calm down and reduce stress, for example with a wide range of programs and digital applications - from health courses to the use of health apps. Children, young people and students can also benefit from special offers.
For the survey, 1002 people aged 18 and over were interviewed by telephone in Saxony by the opinion research institute Forsa on behalf of TK from May to June 2025.
