The Saxon BSW now has a youth association. The JSW Saxony offers party members and supporters between the ages of 14 and 35 a platform to get involved in politics, the party announced after its founding last Saturday.
At the founding event in Chemnitz, the participants elected 33-year-old Gerry Müller, entrepreneur from Crottendorf (Erzgebirgskreis) and 34-year-old Stefan Rubey, addiction counselor from Crimmitschau, as state chairmen. Among the guests in Chemnitz, alongside the Saxon BSW chairman and other representatives of the state association, was JSW national chairwoman Anastasia Wirsing.
First action: support for the "school strike against compulsory military service"
"JSW Saxony will actively campaign for social security and investment in infrastructure and wants to overcome the growing divide between urban and rural areas," said Müller according to the press release. Rubey added: "On issues such as compulsory military service, education, pensions and intergenerational justice, we are firmly on the side of young people."
As one of its first public actions, the JSW in Saxony is planning to support the "School Strike Against Conscription" day of action, which will take place in several Saxon cities on December 5.
