Only six months after birth does a koala cub dare to take its first look out of its mother's pouch. However, a specific feature cannot yet be determined.

The youngest koala offspring at Dresden Zoo has peeked out of its mother's pouch for the first time. Around six months after birth, only a foot, a hand, the nose or the head could be seen at first, according to the zoo. It will be a few more weeks before it looks out regularly or even climbs out of the pouch completely.

The cub does not yet have a name. The sex of the little koala can also only be determined when the young animal comes completely out of the pouch, it was said. If it has a pouch itself, it is female, otherwise it is male.
