Economics Minister Dirk Panter wants to expand the Free State's contacts in the world's most populous country during a trip to India. India is a growth market and Saxon companies should benefit from this, explained the SPD politician. It is also about attracting skilled workers to Saxony.
Last year, the Saxon economy sold goods worth 306.5 million euros to India. In times of customs conflicts and geopolitical tensions, cooperation partners are particularly important in the Asian region.
Panter will be accompanied by a delegation of around 20 people. The trip will take them to the southern Indian state of Tamil Nandu. The agenda there includes talks and company visits in the megacities of Coimbatore and Chennai.
