RB Leipzig's women's footballers have secured their second win in a row. Coach Daniel Stephan's team came away with a 2:0 (1:0) victory in the East German clash against FC Carl Zeiss Jena. The win moved the Saxons up to eighth place in the Bundesliga. Jena, on the other hand, are still waiting for their first win of the season and remain 13th in the relegation zone.
Emilia Asgeirsdottir put her team ahead in the 20th minute with a header from a corner. Annabel Schasching (76') made the difference with a penalty. It was clear that Leipzig's 4-2 win at SC Freiburg last Monday had given them renewed confidence.
