All five women's teams from eastern Germany and Berlin have received a license for the Bundesliga or the second division. The clubs had to comply with changes to the licensing procedure.

RB Leipzig, 1. FC Carl Zeiss Jena and newly promoted Union Berlin have received their licenses for the upcoming season in the first women's Bundesliga. For the first time, the elite class will be played with 14 teams. Like the other eleven clubs, the trio fulfilled the requirements that will apply from the 2025/2026 season. These include full-time positions for co-coaches, goalkeepers and athletics coaches.

Bundesliga relegated Turbine Potsdam and promoted Viktoria Berlin have been admitted to the second division like all other teams that qualify. The second division clubs must also fulfill conditions and employ a coach and a manager for at least 20 hours a week each.

The Bundesliga starts on September 6 with the match between champions Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen. Two weeks earlier, the lower house will kick off.
