The ADAC surveyed residents of medium-sized cities about their satisfaction with the local transportation infrastructure. In Chemnitz, people are satisfied—only drivers have expressed criticism.

Chemnitz ranked in the middle of the pack in an ADAC mobility ranking of medium-sized German cities. Overall, people view mobility in Chemnitz in a predominantly positive light, according to the ADAC. In the area of public transportation, the ratings have remained the same compared to the last survey in 2021, and have even risen slightly among cyclists.

At the same time, respondents still see room for improvement in some areas. In particular, the assessment of car traffic has shifted significantly from a neutral rating to a negative one since the last survey in 2021. Respondents primarily criticized construction site management and the condition of the roads in Chemnitz.

In a nationwide comparison, Münster took first place, as it did in 2021. Mönchengladbach showed the greatest improvement. Oberhausen came in last. For the ADAC Monitor, more than 11,600
residents in 29 German cities with fewer than
500,000 inhabitants were surveyed.
