Basketball Bundesliga club Syntainics MBC has completed its personnel planning for its key positions. The club from Weißenfels has signed center player Jure Planinic. The 25-year-old, 2.06-meter-tall Croatian comes from Bulgarian champions Rilski Sportist Samokov and has signed a two-year contract with the German cup winners and playoff quarter-finalists from the previous season.
The signing of Planicic also means the departure of Martin Breunig, who will take on a new challenge after three seasons, 92 competitive games, 982 points and 498 rebounds in Wolves' kit.
Planinic joins the MBC as Bulgarian champion and seventh-best rebounder in the National Basketball League there. He contributed 14.1 points and 7.3 rebounds to the title win. He also played with the club from the small town around 50 kilometers south of Sofia in the Champions League qualifiers and then in the FIBA Europe Cup. He averaged 13.4 points and 7.5 rebounds in a total of eight games on the international stage.
