The RB Leipzig women's soccer team lost their second game of the new Bundesliga season as well. Coach Jonas Stephan's team fell to SV Werder Bremen 0–2 (0–2). The goals were scored by Mei Shimada (22nd minute) and former Leipzig player Julia Magerl (40th minute), both on headers. In the 72nd minute, RB player Lou-Ann Joly was also sent off after receiving a second yellow card. Following their 0–2 loss to Bayer Leverkusen in the season opener, the completely revamped Leipzig squad remains without any points. The RB women did not want to repeat the mistakes from the Leverkusen game. As Stephan had pointed out, the team lacked consistency in their play both offensively and defensively; in many details, they were too imprecise and not bold enough. But even against Bremen, the Leipzig women lacked punch in their teamwork and defensive stability. Copyright 2026, dpa (www.dpa.de). All rights reserved
