Dresden Hosts Another Celebration of Diversity

This Monday, Dresden’s Neumarkt, in front of the Frauenkirche, will be transformed into a picnic table several hundred meters long, celebrating diversity, openness, and solidarity. From 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Dresden residents, visitors, and newcomers will gather for conversations at a star-shaped table under the motto “Dresden is(s)t bunt” (Dresden eats colorfully). Saxony’s Minister of Social Affairs, Petra Köpping (SPD), will also be attending this year’s 10th edition, according to a statement from her ministry.

The Cellex Foundation has been organizing this banquet for everyone in the state capital since 2015. In addition to the shared meal, there will be a varied supporting program organized by Dresden’s cultural institutions, religious communities, and associations.
