With the rising temperatures, many festival fans are looking forward to good music, camping and partying. People can look forward to these major festivals in Saxony in 2025:
Wave-Gotik-Treffen der Schwarzen Szene in Leipzig
The Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig is inviting fans of the scene for the 32nd time this year. From 6 to 9 June, the organizers are expecting around 18,000 visitors. The events will take place at around 40 venues in and around Leipzig. These include the Agra Trade Fair Park, St. Peter's Church and the Old Town Hall. At the Monument to the Battle of the Nations, well-known film music will be played, including from "Lord of the Rings" and "House of the Dragons". For the first time in several years, concerts will also be held in Markkleeberg Park Castle. A ticket for all four days costs 170 euros in advance. Visitors will be offered music from all genres of the dark scene - including gothic rock, electro, dark wave, medieval rock and industrial.
Rock n'roll at the Firebirds Festival in Trebsen
At the Firebirds Festival at Nimbschen Monastery near Grimma, visitors can immerse themselves in the lifestyle of the 50s and 60s. From July 4 to 6, there will be more than 30 rock n' roll concerts as well as a vintage car meeting, fashion shows, a record fair and numerous workshops. A ticket for all three days costs 110 euros. Camping is also possible on the nearby grounds.
Highfield at Lake Störmthal near Leipzig
Last year, the Highfield Festival at Lake Störmthal near Leipzig was overshadowed by the fire on the Ferris wheel. Two gondolas burnt out completely and 16 people were injured, some of them seriously. The investigation is still ongoing. Nevertheless, a summer feeling is set to return this year from August 15 to 17. The line-up includes national and international stars from the rock, hip-hop and pop scene. Among others, Deichkind, Electric Callboy, K.I.Z. and Clueso have been announced. A festival pass for the whole weekend costs around 190 euros. It is still unclear whether there will be a Ferris wheel or a similar ride again this year.
Reggae festival Colors of Beat in Torgau
On 29 September, the Colors of Beat Festival invites reggae fans to Sanssouci Torgau. In addition to reggae and ska music, the festival offers numerous workshops and art exhibitions in a relaxed atmosphere. This year, acts such as Lion D, Sentilo Sono and Blue Tone Stompers have already been announced. Tickets are available for 40 euros.
