The VC Bitterfeld-Wolfen volleyball team missed out on a place in the semi-finals of the DVV Cup. The team from Saxony-Anhalt lost the match at Bundesliga rivals SG Lüneburg 1:3 (12:25, 25:22, 12:25, 17:25) after 81 minutes on Saturday and was thus unable to take revenge for the 0:3 defeat suffered in the Bundesliga match at home six days ago.

After losing the first round outright, the visitors improved and turned a 3:7 deficit into an 18:14 lead in the second set and maintained the advantage. However, the Lüneburgers did not let the 1:1 equalizer throw them off their stride and played out their individual superiority in the following two rounds. Yann Niclas Böhme, who was named best player of the match, converted the second match point for the hosts.
