In Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia, the last week of the vacations is approaching. This means that return traffic on the freeways will increase significantly, according to the federal freeway company. A high volume of traffic is expected in the three federal states, especially on the last vacation weekend on August 9 and 10.
This will particularly affect the Autobahn 2 between Hanover and Magdeburg, the A4 between Kirchheimer Dreieck and Eisenach and the A9 along its entire route. The situation is exacerbated by traffic arriving from federal states such as Bavaria, where the vacations are just beginning.
