Thanks to its tireless commitment to open-mindedness and democratic values, the "Business for an Open-Minded Saxony" initiative has seen a significant increase in membership since the beginning of the year. With 21 new members, including well-known companies such as the European Energy Exchange (EEX) and Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH, the number of members has risen by more than 20 percent. This development underlines the strong commitment of Saxony's business community to freedom, democracy, diversity and openness.
The new members of the initiative share the conviction that an economically successful Saxony requires a climate of openness in which innovation can thrive and all employees are valued equally. "Diversity, respect and recognition are values we live by as a matter of course and form the basis for innovation and growth," explains Peter Reitz, CEO of EEX. EEX operates platforms for wholesale energy trading and is an example of the global commitment of Saxon companies.
Kai Mielenz from Elbe Flugzeugwerke emphasizes the necessity of a cosmopolitan and democratic Saxony for international cooperation and the well-being of customers, business partners and employees. This commitment is reflected in the support of the "Business for an Open-minded Saxony" initiative, which serves as a platform to jointly advocate the aforementioned values.
In addition to EEX and Elbe Flugzeugwerke, other prominent companies and private individuals have joined the initiative, demonstrating the broad support of Saxony's business community for an open society. This movement is also resonating beyond Saxony, inspired by the appeal of the Federal President and demonstrations by civil society, similar initiatives in other federal states.
The association "Wirtschaft für ein Weltoffenes Sachsen" is exemplary for the commitment of the Saxon economy to strengthen the potential of the location through openness, diversity and democracy. With projects such as the "Wahl ist nicht egal - ich stehe auf aus-WAHL" campaign, the members actively contribute to promoting a vibrant democracy.
Since its foundation at the end of 2016, "Wirtschaft für ein Weltoffenes Sachsen" has played a pioneering role in social responsibility and proves that economic strength and social commitment can effectively go hand in hand. This network sends out a strong signal for the values that define a modern and cosmopolitan Saxony.
