Zwickau wins the decisive relegation match against Leverkusen to stay in Germany's top handball division. The hosts were only briefly shaky after the break.

The BSV Sachsen Zwickau women's handball team will continue to play in the Bundesliga next season. In the decisive third relegation match on Saturday, coach Norman Rentsch's charges secured their place in the league with a 24:20 (12:11) win against TSV Bayer Leverkusen. Kaho Nakayama (8) and Blanka Kajdon (6/2) played the biggest part in the victory and contributed more than half of Zwickau's goals.

The home side got off to a good start and were 9:5 ahead after 20 minutes, also thanks to their strong goalkeeper Barbara Victoria Gyori (eleven saves). However, the Saxon team then lost the thread. Leverkusen tied the scores at 10:10 (28') and were 14:13 in front after 34 minutes. Zwickau regained control of the game and its opponents with four goals in a row and extended its 17:14 lead (39') to 20:16 (46').
