FC Erzgebirge Aue defeated Oberliga club Bischofswerdaer FV to reach the final of the Saxony Cup.

Erzgebirge Aue have kept their chance of reaching the first round of the DFB Cup. The third-division soccer club won 4:0 (2:0) at Oberliga side Bischofswerdaer FV to advance to the final of the Saxony Cup. The team from Bischofswerda had eliminated defending champions Lok Leipzig in the quarter-finals.

The Veilchen didn't give the first-division side from Bischofwerda a chance. Marco Schikora scored after just 16 minutes following a corner from Marvin Stefaniak. Marcel Bär then scored twice in the 29th and 57th minutes and Steffen Meuer (76th) to make the final score 4-0.

Aue captain Martin Männel had said after the league defeat in Verl last Saturday that qualifying for the DFB Cup was "almost vital" for the club. Aue were able to preserve this chance.
