The DFB Cup match between north-east regional league champions Lok Leipzig and Schalke 04 had to be interrupted at short notice. A Schalke player complained to the linesman.

The cup match between the north-east regional league champions 1. FC Lok Leipzig and second division side FC Schalke 04 had to be interrupted in the first half due to suspected discriminatory comments. After 14 minutes, referee Max Burda conferred with the captains of both teams with the score at 0-0.

Before that, Schalke's Christopher Antwi-Adjei was apparently confronted with insulting remarks from Lok supporters during a throw-in. At least he complained to the linesman. After being told by the stadium announcer that discriminatory shouts should be avoided, the match was restarted after a two-minute interruption.

Lok spokesman Carsten Maschulle told the TV channel Sky during the half-time break: "We couldn't verify it in the end either. We have an employee who is a wheelchair user, who was exactly or almost at the spot where the player was standing. He didn't hear anything. We also asked around a bit and nobody heard anything. The linesman, who is logically standing close to the throw-in, probably didn't hear anything either. That's the situation for now."

During the half-time break, the guests made a post on Platform X with the words: "STEHTAUF gegen Rassismus!"
