Third-division soccer club FC Erzgebirge Aue have also won their fourth pre-season test match. The team coached by Jens Härtel prevailed 4:2 (3:0) at Bayern regional league side SpVgg Bayreuth. The clash marked the end of the training camp in Bad Gögging, Bavaria, before the team returned home.
The goals were scored by Moritz Seiffert (2nd minute), Erik Majetschak (18th) and Ryan Malone (33rd/70th). The hosts scored two late goals (76th/85th), the first goals conceded by Härtel's team in preparation.
The team from the Erzgebirge will play two more tests, next Friday against Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach and on July 26 against Energie Cottbus. They will then kick off the new season at home against Hansa Rostock on August 3.
Männel remains captain
Meanwhile, the club announced that Aue's record player and long-serving captain Martin Männel will remain captain. In addition, the team council for the new season was elected, including Marvin Stefaniak, Majetschak, Malone and Pascal Fallmann alongside Männel.
