VC Bitterfeld Wolfen celebrated its second win in its second match this year. Coach Alessio Lodi's charges came out on top on Sunday at eighth-placed FT 1844 Freiburg 3:1 (25:22, 21:25, 25:22, 25:17) after 106 minutes to consolidate their seventh place in the table. Logan House from Bitterfeld was voted the most valuable player.
After a good start and a 1:0 lead, the visitors were already on course for victory in the second half. However, the team from Breisgau snatched the set with a 5:0 run from 20:21 to 25:21. However, the team from Bitterfeld kept their heads up and broke their opponents' morale by winning the third set. The visitors were quickly 9:4 ahead in the fourth set, extended their lead to 12:5 and did not let their seventh win of the season slip from their grasp.
