Bundesliga promotion contender Hamburger SV has signed a talented goalkeeper following the retirement of Tom Mickel. "We see great potential in Fernando, which we now want to develop together," said sporting director Stefan Kuntz in the club's statement.
Leipzig's sports managing director Schäfer: "Very talented goalkeeper"
At the end of May, HSV keeper Mickel, the longest-serving HSV professional, announced the end of his soccer career. The keeper Dickes, who was born in Halle an der Saale, is to train with the professionals and also play in the HSV youth teams.
The 1.93-meter goalkeeper has already gained experience with the RB professionals, played 26 U19 games last season and was in goal four times in the European UEFA Youth League. "He is a very talented goalkeeper who has performed well in the youth ranks and has earned training sessions with the professionals," Leipzig's sporting director Marcel Schäfer was quoted as saying.
