More than 900 entries have been submitted for the 21st Neisse Film Festival (May 14 to 19). According to the organizers on Thursday, this means that more films than ever before are competing for a total of ten awards, the so-called Neisse Fish. The selection for the film series and competitions will take place until the beginning of April.

The Neisse Film Festival has been presenting current feature films, documentaries and short films in the three-country region between Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic every May since 2004. What began with the idea of showing films in three countries has "developed into a cultural bridge for film fans from the three neighboring countries," it said. The festival is an important meeting point for the national and international film scene and the film industry.

In addition to three competitions and various film series, the program includes concerts, exhibitions, readings and parties. The focus this time is on female perspectives. Another highlight announced is a concert with Ukrainian rapper Alyona Alyona, who caused a sensation with her debut video in 2018.
