In 2023, the ADAC recorded an increase in the number of car breakdowns in Saxony. Defective car batteries were the most common cause.

Last year, the ADAC in Saxony was called out to car breakdowns more frequently than in the previous year. A total of 107,893 call-outs were recorded in the state, 3593 more than in 2022, the ADAC announced in Dresden on Tuesday. The most common reason for the helpers being called out was faulty car batteries (44.1 percent).

Drivers also called for help due to engine damage or faulty generators and starters, the breakdown service explained. According to the data, they were called out most frequently in August and December last year. The record day was December 4 with a total of 18,378 call-outs.
