Party brake just before the end: Dynamo Dresden must continue to wait for promotion to Bundesliga 2 after a dramatic 1:1 draw at second-placed Arminia Bielefeld. In the fourth minute of stoppage time, substitute Dynamo player David Kubatta scored an unfortunate equalizer in his own goal. Jakob Lemmer had scored for Dresden in the 62nd minute. The draw was not undeserved for the DFB Cup finalists from Bielefeld. In front of 25,907 spectators on the Alm, the hosts were the better team, but lacked efficiency.
The Saxons tried to keep the ball as far away from their own goal as possible, limiting themselves to counter-attacking opportunities. However, these rarely materialized. However, coach Thomas Stamm's team defended with great concentration.
Surprising Dynamo lead in Bielefeld's pressing phase
After the break, both teams stepped up their attacking efforts. Bielefeld piled on the pressure from the 55th minute onwards and tried to score from distance. Dynamo were also lucky in this phase. Some extremely dangerous shots were deflected at the last moment. The visitors then took the lead completely by surprise. Dominik Kother and Niklas Hauptmann prepared the play on the left and Lemmer just had to head home.
What followed were even more furious attacks from the hosts, but initially without the necessary precision. Dynamo were only rarely able to break free and relieve pressure. On one of the few counter-attacks, Christoph Daferner (75') missed the preliminary decision. After that, the Black & Yellows defended the lead with great sacrifice - until the shock in stoppage time. An input from the left wing bounced through the five-metre area and the ball bounced off Kubatta's shin and into the Dresden goal.
