The SC DHfK Leipzig handball team are still waiting for their first win of the Bundesliga season. The team coached by Raul Alonso lost 29:34 (15:15) at home to TBV Lemgo Lippe and is on 0:4 points. In front of 3,836 spectators, Blaer Hinriksson was Leipzig's best scorer with six goals. Niels Versteijnen excelled for Lemgo with nine goals.
Five days after the opening 27:31 defeat in Eisenach, Leipzig started its first home game with great vigor and initially impressed with quick transition actions. However, there was a break in the game after 7:5 (13 minutes). The home side was now forced into a positional attack by Lemgo and went almost ten minutes without scoring from play. The visitors took an 11:9 lead during this spell. However, Leipzig recovered and equalized by the break.
After the break, Lemgo clearly took command and pulled 23:18 (43') ahead against an overly passive home side. Leipzig did not give up, but was unable to get within striking distance until the end.
