The women's handball team of Thüringer HC has notched up its fifth successive win in the German league. The team of Head Coach Herbert Müller defeated bottom-of-the-table Buxtehuder SV 27:23 (13:12) after improving its performance in the second half. In front of 1,014 spectators, Csenge Kuczora was the best scorer for THC, who remain fourth with 17:7 points, with seven goals.
Without the injured playmaker Natsuki Aizawa and top scorer Johanna Reichert, the club from Thuringia struggled enormously in the first half and even trailed 9:10 at one stage (24. minute) against the courageous underdogs.
The game remained evenly poised up to 17:17 in the 39th minute, before the home side stepped up the pace and goalkeeper Laura Kuske also got into the game better and better. As a result, they produced a 7:1 run to pull 24:18 ahead in the 52nd minute.
