Washington leaves Jena and moves to Chemnitz

Basketball Bundesliga club Science City Jena has lost an important player to a rival. As the Thuringians announced, Eric Washington is leaving the team of Head Coach Björn Harmsen and joining the Niners Chemnitz. The American captain is using an exit clause in his contract to do so.

The option, which was stipulated before the season, was an elementary component of being able to sign the 32-year-old. The transfer terms were not disclosed. "The talks were collegial, objective and transparent in a climate characterized by mutual respect. The good relations between our clubs will not be negatively affected by this transfer," said Thomas Fleddermann from the management of Science City Jena.
