On the evening of May 1, 2025, there were two serious altercations in Leipzig in which several people were injured. In Grünau-Mitte, on Kirschberg, an initially verbal argument between two men escalated into a physical altercation in which a 32-year-old man was injured with a knife by a 27-year-old Moroccan. The argument involved other people, who were also injured. Both men had to be taken to hospital. The police took numerous personal details and are now investigating dangerous bodily harm in order to clarify the exact course of events.
At the same time, another brawl took place in a pub in Leipzig-Möckern. Here, a 55-year-old man was so seriously injured that he also had to be taken to hospital. The alleged perpetrators, a 40-year-old Iranian, a 46-year-old German and a 50-year-old Kosovar, initially fled the scene but were caught by the police shortly afterwards. After police measures, including identification treatment, the three suspects were released on the orders of a standby public prosecutor. Investigations are also ongoing in this case for dangerous bodily harm.
The investigations in both cases are still ongoing.
