Dynamo Dresden play the "Elb-Clásico" in their first home game of the season. The promoted second division side will then face eternal rivals 1. FC Magdeburg at the Rudolf Harbig Stadium. This was announced by the DFL and Dynamo. Dynamo's first league match will be away at Spielvereinigung Greuther Fürth. The club will conclude the season with a home match against relegated first division side Holstein Kiel.
Magdeburg, meanwhile, will kick off the new season with a home match against Eintracht Braunschweig on August 2-3. After the Dresden game, FCM will then face former coach Christian Titz at Hannover 96.
