Dynamo Dresden continues to challenge the partial ban on spectators for its first home game of the season on Sunday against Darmstadt 98 and has filed a lawsuit with the Permanent Arbitration Court of the German Football Association (DFB) against a ruling by the DFB Federal Court. The DFB Federal Court had upheld Dresden’s appeal against the Sports Court’s ruling of June 5, which, among other things, required that approximately 9,500 seats at the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion remain empty for the match against Darmstadt.
“We deliberately took the time after the ruling was announced to carefully consider our next steps. As a first step, we are now seeking a stay of execution of the imposed penalty until the conclusion of the arbitration proceedings, in order to have the DFB Federal Court’s ruling and our rights properly reviewed by the Permanent Arbitration Court,” said Dynamo Managing Director Stephan Zimmermann in a club statement.
According to the Dresden club, a decision is expected as early as this Tuesday on the extent to which the penalty imposed by the Federal Court will be suspended.
