Top new signing for RB women: Lisa Baum joins from HSV

Women's Bundesliga club RB Leipzig has signed a highly talented player in Lisa Baum. The 18-year-old has signed a contract with RB until June 30, 2028, the Leipzig club announced.

"Lisa Baum is an athletic player with excellent technique who not only has great footballing talent, but also the mentality to compete at the highest level. Her instinct and enthusiasm on the pitch make her a player who can make the difference in the future," said Viola Odebrecht, Head of Women's and Girls' Football at RB Leipzig.

U20 international Lisa Baum played a key role in Hamburger SV's promotion to the top flight. In 19 games in the 2nd division, she scored four goals and set up four others. "I want to take the next step in my development here and I'm convinced that Leipzig is the right place to do so. The club has everything I need for that," said Baum, who has a ritual before every game. Shortly before kick-off, she always puts a piece of tape on her wrist.

The ideas come spontaneously. "I usually write down what I'm feeling on it. Then I write "courage" on it, for example. Or something related to my brother. Then I know that he's with me," midfielder Baum recently told the German Press Agency.
